Getting ready for fall travel? Here’s how to pack for a trip to Alaska in just a carry-on plus outfit inspiration for what to wear in Fairbanks in late August.
I just got back from a few days in and around Fairbanks, Alaska and had a great time. Like with any other trip, dressing the part was important and I packed outfits based on the activities on my itinerary. Even aside from outfits, there were a few essentials to pack for this Fairbanks, Alaska vacation. While planning this trip, I looked up how do people dress in Fairbanks and the results were overwhelmingly casual. I noted that and incorporated a bit of my own style–bright colors, luxe fabrics, and a little rich auntie flair–to still both confident and comfortable. So, what is the weather like in Fairbanks in August, anyway? It is chilly, with lows in the low 40s and highs in the mid 50s. Of course, late evenings and early mornings are cooler. So it’s advisable to dress in layers. Check out what I wore during this trip followed by a women’s Alaska packing list for this time of year, which also works for the spring weather, by the way!
