If you only have one day in Grenada, here's how to spend it. My Grenada island tour experience hit popular attractions, hidden gems, and everything in between! This review is based on my own tour of the Caribbean Isle of Spice in 2026.

What makes this the best tour in Grenada?
The fact that it is unique to you!
I did the majority of my research for my Grenada island trip on TikTok, and that's how I found Kell the Tour Guide. He is known as one of the best tour guides in Grenada, and what drew my interest was the fact that he knows the island so well that he has several different itineraries and routes, including rum tours, chocolate and cocoa tours, history tours, rainforest tours, combinations of all these, and more!
Kellon can also create a custom itinerary based on your interests and does solo, couple, group, and family tours! I knew I wanted to see Black Bay Beach, and let him take it from there.
And it wasn't like the typical tourism excursions I've been on. Our day was full to the brim with authentic experiences we could only have had with an expert local guide.

What You'll Need
*This is what I packed for my Grenada Spice Island tour. Since every tour is different, be sure to confirm what you might need directly.
Cash for any stops for food, souvenirs, or extras. Eastern Caribbean dollars are accepted everywhere, and USD is widely accepted--just make sure the bills are not damaged.
Grippy Shoes for hikes and estate or farm tours. I wore these Teva sandals, and they had just enough grip. If I could do it again, I'd wear sneakers or my hiking boots.
Hands-free Bag for your essentials. I recommend a backpack or bum bag--even better if it's waterproof!
Sunglasses + Hat + Sunscreen for sun protection--that Grenadian sun is no joke!
Swimsuit + Water Shoes for the beach and slippery waterfall pools
Waterproof Phone Carrier to keep your electronics safe while you take pictures
Wet Bag so you can change out of your swimsuit into dry clothes for the rest of the Grenada day tour.
Use my Grenada packing list for your whole vacation, so you don't forget anything important!

Grenada Full Day Tour Itinerary
The eco tour starts with pickup from whichever hotel, resort, or Airbnb you're staying in--or at the cruise port! St. George's is the most popular, but other areas are available.
I stayed at Mount Cinnamon in the Grand Anse Beach area, and Kell was ready to go as soon as I came down.
Fort Frederic
Our first stop was Fort Frederic for a brief Grenada history lesson backed by nearly 360-degree views of the town and water. Seeing everything from above felt strangely grounding, and the historical and cultural context Kell provided made the rest of the tour even more meaningful.

Black Bay Beach
Very few tour companies in Grenada go to Black Bay Beach, so it was the top priority for my private Grenada tour! It's a quiet, off-the-beaten-path experience that was a nice change of pace from the more frequented white sand beaches the island is known for.
After basking in the volcanic black sand and crystal clear water, we did a bit of hiking to get to a nearby indigenous petroglyph site/bat cave.
Here's everything you need to know about visiting Black Bay Beach before you go!

Concord Waterfalls
Grenada is home to many beautiful waterfalls, so it can be hard to pick which one(s) to see. After the hike at our last stop, Concord Falls was, thankfully, easy to get to.
The water is a little chilly, but refreshing once you take the plunge! There's a cafe on-site, as well as a few souvenir shops.

Local Lunch
To be honest, the food is what made me decide to visit Grenada island. And an authentic, local meal in Gouyave was the perfect way to refuel halfway through our Grenada excursion. Once I saw that the chef was an auntie, I knew the plate would be delicious, and it was! Don't forget to try some natural juice, too.

Jouvay Chocolate Factory Cocoa Tour
You can't go to Grenada without trying their chocolate, and seeing the process from cocoa bean to bar made it taste even sweeter! I got to learn about the cocoa harvesting, chocolate production, and do taste tests, then purchased several bars to take back home to Houston.

River Sallee Sulphur Springs
I had such a great time visiting sulphuric springs during my trip to Dominica that I thought I knew what to expect here, but there were still surprises.
My skin felt and looked super smooth and supple after a sulphuric clay masque and saltwater rinse--straight from the land and sea! There's also a full-body option.

River Antoine Rum Distillery
I've taken a few different distillery tours before, but the one at River Antoine Estate stood out because the processes seem to be in harmony with their surroundings. Nothing is wasted, and everything has a purpose. We concluded here with Grenadian rum tastings, and let me just say that it is strong!

Grand Etang Rainforest
This is where the famous Grenada monkey tours happen! I didn't get any pictures with them, but this could be its own half-day tour--there's so much to experience.
Compared to everywhere else we had been (five of the seven parishes!), the air was a bit cooler around Grand Etang due to the elevation, and it was a nice, calm conclusion to the tour.
