Grand Cayman Kimpton Seafire Review

If you’re looking for a luxury beachfront stay on Grand Cayman, let me share my experience with you. This Kimpton Seafire review breaks down everything you need to know before booking based on my solo summertime stay at the property!
Would I recommend this hotel?
First and foremost, I definitely recommend staying at the Kimpton Seafire Resort and Spa in the Cayman Islands. I hadn’t read many reviews before my stay. But had heard a glowing firsthand recommendation from my cousin and her husband after their visit shortly before my trip.
This was my second time at a Kimpton property, with the first at the Kimpton Gray in downtown Chicago (United States). The quality was there from little touches like complimentary daily morning tea and coffee service and evening social hour on the main floor.
The service and ambience were excellent and everywhere I went on the resort smelled lovely. And I made multiple trips to the Library By the Sea bar onsite for delicious drinks.
My experience was fabulous, even though they probably thought I was sketchy at first! Long story short, I booked onsite right at the check-in desk after a less than desirable stay at Sea Palm Villas. The wifi was so poor at my previous accommodation that I couldn’t book online. So I showed up without a reservation for one of the last available rooms.
Where is the Kimpton Seafire in Grand Cayman?
Seafire Grand Cayman is currently the newest resort on the island. It’s located on Seven Mile Beach about 15 minutes from Owens Roberts International Airport.

Hotel Amenities
Dining Options are plentiful, including the Library bar I already mentioned and enjoyed thoroughly. There are three other full service restaurants and a pantry with grab-and-go food.
Room Service: I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly room service came on such a huge property. AND the brunch I ordered was really tasty!
Beach Access has all the accessories you would expect at a hotel of this caliber and price point, including water sports, chairs, food service, and rentals. I liked the stretch of Seven Mile Beach that the Kimpton sits on much better vs Westin Grand Cayman, where the sandy area is mostly eroded.
The Pool is large with different sections and depths so I didn’t feel too crowded with other folks around, including kids and families. I also liked that the staff brought around different little snacks poolside, like popsicles and granola.
Spa: I didn’t patronize the Spa at Seafire but it is renowned and definitely on my list for next time.
Wifi is speedy, consistent all the way out to the beach and free for IHG Reward members.
Valet Parking is included and I never had to wait long for my car to be brought around, even without calling down ahead. Onsite self parking is available.
Kimpton Seafire resort fee is currently $80 per day and described as a guest amenities fee.
I stayed as a solo traveler but should note that this hotel is billed as being family friendly and pet friendly with many more amenities and features for parents, kids, and furry friends that I didn’t need to take advantage of.
Which Room to Book
There are several different kinds of room including specialty suites and bungalows–most with water views! I stayed in a King Premium Ocean View, which I felt was just the right size for a solo traveler, romantic couple or best friend girls trip!
Keep in mind that certain room types are only available on specific floors when making your booking decision. I was on the seventh floor and not disturbed by any noise except for an occasional rooster call, which is hard to avoid no matter where you are on the island.

For Solo Travelers
I would say not to let the size or family friendly marketing for this hotel deter you from checking in as a solo traveler! I rested well, ate well, and lounged poolside with plenty of space and great service and attention as a party of one.
And as a woman visiting alone, I did not have any safety concerns even when coming in a bit late from a speakeasy. Guest areas were well lit and security was present without killing the vibe.
